Disney is developing a live-action movie reboot of the Inspector Gadget franchise. The original animated series Inspector Gadget premiered in 1983 and introduced the world to the titular character. A bumbling cyborg detective with countless high-tech gadgets embedded in his body, Gadget spent his days battling the sinister Dr. Claw and his organization M.A.D., oblivious that his niece Penny and her dog Brain were truly responsible for stopping Claw’s evil plans....

The voice actresses behind some of Disney’s most famous princesses were asked at D23 this weekend about the possibility of their characters teaming up for a crossover movie, and all of them were in favor of it. Thanks to the enormous financial success of Marvel Studios’ dominant MCU franchise, interconnected cinematic universes and crossover team-up films are a growing trend in Hollywood. When it comes to the world of animation though, few groups of characters are more well-known than the Disney princesses....

In an effort to outdo Josh Brolin’s banner year as a main cast-member of two major comic book blockbusters released within two months of each other, Djimon Hounsou is set to be in three within five. Hounsou has roles in the next two DCEU instalments, Aquaman and Shazam, as well as returning to his role as Korath the Pursuer from Guardians of the Galaxy for the MCU’s Captain Marvel, coming in February....

Digitimes reports are always a bit hit-and-miss, so take these reports with some skepticism. However, each story makes sense, and in many ways back up morsels of information that were already circulating. The death of 3D Touch has been long in the making....

Dialog Semiconductor saw its shares plunge last year after it warned that its time as an Apple supplier might be coming to an end … It said then that its contract to supply power management chips to Apple could be at risk following a report that Apple was developing its own chip designs. The company’s CEO Jalal Bagherli said at the time that Dialog’s 2018 contracts were safe, and it was already working on 2019 products, implying that it could be left out in the cold from 2020....

A reader tipped us that Apple may have cut older versions of iTunes that are compatible with G3 Macs out of the iTunes Store. The iTunes Store used to work fine on iTunes 8.2.1, our tipster writes, but as of recently the store would refuse to open. Even though the jukebox software continues to operate normally on these machines, clicking the iTunes Store in the lefthand column puts up a warning to upgrade to iTunes 10, as seen in the above image....

According to a company statement, Discord will be discontinuing service for its Universal Game Launcher and Game Library systems. Discord, which first released to the public in 2015, is one of the most popular services used by video game streamers currently available, and reportedly has over 250 million different users. A few years after its reveal, the company also launched their own Discord game distribution store with a 90/10 revenue split for game developers, something which allowed creators a chance at far higher profits per title sold than competing PC game distribution services like Steam....

Disney reportedly asked Sony for 25% of the profits on any future Spider-Man movie Marvel Studios worked on, not the 50/50 split as initially stated. Sony and Marvel Studios entered into a partnership to share Spider-Man in 2015. The original deal was simple, Sony paid for any Spider-Man solo film and received the profits. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios was given creative input on these films and allowed to use Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time....

Disney offered a first look at its Dumbo live-action/CGI reimagining during its film presentation at CinemaCon 2018. The high-flying elephant will make the transition from animated character to being the star of his own live-action feature next year, with Tim Burton directing. Dumbo is the story of a circus elephant who is far from normal; he spends most of his childhood getting teased for having ears that are far too big for him....
