Pixar hit the scene in 1995 with Toy Story and has since made a name for itself all on its own even though its movies were released under the Walt Disney Studios banner. In recent years, Pixar has taken to mixing original animated features in with its sequel slate, with its last four releases being an even mixture consisting of Finding Dory, The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, and Monsters University. Now, after 2016 saw the release of the massively successful Finding Nemo sequel, Disney and Pixar are gearing up for another sequel in Cars 3 as well as the original movie Coco....

Disney is a company famous for creating captivating animated stories and their output from the 2010s featured a large range of tales from a detective story set in a thriving metropolitan city inhabited by anthropomorphic animals to an adventure starring video game characters inside the world of the internet itself. The Walt Disney Company vowed to change the streaming service game with the launch of Disney+, but so far, they’ve yet to deliver on their promises. Aside from Disney’s own back catalog, the programming stems from studios such as Disney Animation, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, National Geographic, 20th Century Fox (now just 20th Century), and others. Disney’s distribution chief has commented on Solo: A Star Wars Story’s box office opening coming in well below where early tracking indicated it would.
