In the near future, Microsoft will retire Xbox Gamertags after five years if you go that long without signing in to Xbox Live. This condition was included as part of Microsoft’s new service agreement.
After you haven’t logged in to your Microsoft account for 365 days, it will be deleted and can’t be recovered. Your Microsoft account will be deleted after 2 years of inactivity and may not be restored.
On April 20, 2016, Microsoft announced that it would cease production of new Xbox 360 hardware. Customers will be supported.
Go to account.microsoft.com and log in. You’ll be given a security code to receive and verify. Your Xbox profile, as well as any games, music, or video linked to it, will be accessible again the next time you sign in to your console after you enter the code.
