Diane Keaton posted a fan edit of John Wick 3 that features her character from Something’s Gotta Give yelling at Keanu Reeves’ master assassin. The two actors shared the screen in 2003’s Something’s Gotta Give, a Nancy Meyers romantic comedy starring Jack Nicholson. Recently, they shared the stage at the 2020 Academy Awards, where they presented the award for best original screenplay.
Keaton posted the clip to her Instagram, alongside the message, “KEANU- YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL AND LISTEN TO ME MORE OFTEN!!! DIANE.” The short clip is from a brutal knife fight that happens near the beginning of John Wick 3, but then Keaton’s Something’s Gotta Give character is edited in yelling at the two assassins, “Stop it both of you! Just stop this, right this minute! I thought we’re supposed to be helping each other, not ripping each other to shreds!” The assassins take a break in their fight as Keaton admonishes them for their “severe psychological problems.”
Keaton has been busy voicing Michellee on the Netflix animated series Green Eggs and Ham. Next, the legendary actress films Christmas comedy Family Jewels with her First Wives Club co-stars, Goldie Hawn (The Christmas Chronicles), and Bette Midler (Hocus Pocus 2).
Reeves is just as busy, with The Matrix 4 and John Wick 4 both due in theaters on the same day. The actor has been training for both films while shooting The Matrix 4 in San Fransisco. Maybe Keaton’s catching up on John Wick 3 because Reeves has offered her some role in its sequel? Or, more likely, she found a silly fan edit online and shared it with her old friend.
