Destiny lead raid designer Gavin Irby gave players an idea of what kind of challenge to expect from the Hard mode of the raid, saying, “For the mechanics themselves, we shied away from simply increasing sandbox difficulty (not that it won’t be harder). You’ve had time to hone your strategies and develop a rhythm.”
He added, “Some of you might even be able to do it backwards, blindfolded, or upside-down. Hard Mode is going to upset that rhythm. We’re going to give you one more plate to spin, and make you think on your feet.”
However, a tweet popped up 90 on Bungie’s account minutes after the release of Hard mode:
Bungie had promised that they would tweet the name of the first group to beat the Kings Fall Raid on hard mode, and they did. Congratulations to Clan Forever LivE for beating the challenging Hard mode within a mere 90 minutes of release.
